Hello and Welcome to Timber Creek. This is an ON30 ongoing project, all buildings and tree's are scratch built. The original idea was for a working diarama and the On30 gauge was first choice as I had already done the OO gauge and N gauge thing. I had also come across the OO gauge Bachmann Shay Locomotives and then found the ON30 gauge ones. They really are fine detailed and great scale speed runners. In Timber Creek my Shay's are DCC controlled as I fitted simple three function decoders ( Bachmann 36-553 x1 8 Pin 3 Fun DCC Loco Decoder ) so now they do run smoothly and quietly. A simple Bachmann EZ controller is used.

I do not have previous experience of DCC, so the Bachmann system was picked purely on cost and simplicity of use and instalation. Thusfar, it has proven to be ample for my limited amount of needs and use. I'm sure many will say grrrrrrrr should have used  x y z, however, on the basis of, if it ain't broke don't fix it, it will stay as it is.

Now a little about my self, I'm male. single, born 31st October 1947, worked all my life till recently (various and varied types of work) but had to retire early because of ill health, two heart attacks and a few operations (stents fitted) and other health issues. This has resulted in limited mobilty due to breathing problems and other health issues. So my interests now are , photography, model railroading, only steam locomotives though. Timber Creek was mainly thought out and designed with photography and video clips as a priority, although "play" was taken into consideration also. I live in Walsall, West Midlands and Ryecroft is the local area name.
